Terms of Service
The terms under which you may use Markaroo. A plain-English summary follows; the binding version sits in the contract issued to each subscribing school.
This is a working summary, current as of May 2026. The formal terms supplied with your subscription agreement override anything written here. For the binding version contact parth@markaroo.co.uk.
About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Markaroo web application, provided by Citrine & Sage Limited (Company No. 16038867, "we", "us"). By signing in you agree to them.
What Markaroo provides
An AI-assisted assessment service: workspaces for sharing question papers and marking schemes, AI grading of student answers, and dashboards for monitoring performance. Specific features may evolve; we'll notify pilot schools by email of material changes.
Acceptable use
- Use Markaroo only for legitimate academic assessment activities.
- Do not upload material you don't have the right to share.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the service.
- Do not share account credentials. Each user must sign in with their own account.
- Do not use the service to harass, discriminate against, or grade unfairly any individual.
Accuracy of AI output
Markaroo's marks and feedback are drafts. The teacher reviewing the assessment is responsible for the final mark and the wording released to a student. We make no warranty that the AI's first-pass output is correct in every detail; the platform is designed so that nothing reaches a student without human approval.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of the question papers, marking schemes, and student work you upload. You grant Markaroo a limited licence to process this content solely to provide the service. We retain ownership of the platform itself, including its underlying models, code, and brand.
Confidentiality
We treat workspace content as confidential. We won't disclose it except as needed to deliver the service or as required by law.
Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached, or where required for security reasons. Schools may terminate the service at any time by writing to us; we'll delete workspace data in line with the Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months preceding the relevant event. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
